Today we will embark
on an exciting adventure and for 3 days, we will immerse ourselves in landscapes
impressive while we sail through the fjords
and Canalesmore remote in the southern region of Chile.
This is the "Southern Route" that goes from Port
Montt, capital of the Lakes Region to the entrance gate to the
Southern Patagonia in Puerto Natales.
Day 1: Puerto Montt.
During check-in to
at 6:00 p.m. at the Versalles Hotel, our team at the port will be
waiting to receive the luggage and provide you with all the information
necessary. If you travel by vehicle, we will give you precise directions
to facilitate the boarding process.
Once on board,
We will be received with a warm welcome talk from our
crew. They will also provide us with important information to ensure your
security and ensure an entertaining and memorable browsing experience.
We will set sail from
Puerto Montt and we will enter the majestic Patagonian Fjords.
During navigation, we can admire impressive landscapes while
we crossed the Seno de Reloncaví and the Gulf of
Ancud. As night falls, we will navigate the Apiao Channel and then enter the Gulf
Corcovado, where we will enjoy the serenity of the waters and the beauty
nature that surrounds us.
Day 2: Moraleda Channel - Oceanic Area - Gulf of
Penalties.
The dawn us
you will find sailing the southernmost part of the Gulf
Corcovado, where the Captain, based on meteorological information,
tidal currents and astronomical events such as the Moon and the Sun, will determine
the most appropriate route to continue our journey towards the Oceanic Area.
Among the options we could visit:
Boca del Guafo: If we choose this exit,
We will sail between the Chonos Archipelago and Guafo Island to
quickly access the Oceanic Area.
Ninualac Canal: We will navigate the Canal
Moraleda during the morning, passing near Tuap Island, and then turning
towards the west and sail through the Ninualac Channel, emerging into the open sea at the
late.
Pulluche Channel: This option will take us to
through the Moraleda Canal, known for being an important transit point
for sailors and canoeists in the area. Afterwards, we will sail through the Canal
Errázuriz and the Chacabuco Canal before entering the lush Pulluche Canal, surrounded
of lenga and cypress forests. Here, we may have the opportunity to see
dolphins, sea lions and wild birds.
At dusk, we
We will enter oceanic navigation near the Gulf of Penas and we will continue
overnight. This open sea crossing will last approximately 12 hours
in favorable weather conditions, offering us the possibility of sighting
humpback, minke and blue whales (depending on the time of year and the
climate).
Day 3: Bajo Cotopaxi - Puerto Edén.
At dawn,
We will sail between impressive fjords and
we will cross the Messier Channel, which reaches a depth of 1,270
meters, being the deepest in the area. In this channel, we will learn about the Cargo Ship “Captain Leonidas”, which since

navigation and reference point for sailors who navigate these waters.
Shortly after,
we will cross the English Narrows to
reach the town of Puerto Edén,
located on Wellington Island and
considered the last population of Alacalufes indigenous people in Chile. This enclave

Eden will be brief, intended only for the boarding and disembarking of residents
local.
After leaving behind
Puerto Edén, we will resume our navigation through the fascinating canals
Patagonians. We will pass through the Paso del Indio,
Paso del Abyss, Canales Wide, Concepción, Inocentes, Angostura Guía, Canal
Sarmiento, Farquar Pass, Collingwood Strait, Union Canal, Sobenes Pass (the
southernmost of our route), Paso Escobar Doxrud and Canal Morla Vicuña.
Each of these
canals and passes offers impressive landscapes and a unique experience of
navigation through the intricate network of waterways that make up the
Chilean patagonia. It will be an unforgettable journey, full of natural beauty and
fascinating discoveries.
Day 4: Angostura White - Puerto Natales.
At dawn,
We will begin our navigation through the Channel
Santa María, then heading towards the narrowest pass of our
route, the Angostura White, with only 80
meters wide, offering a unique and exciting experience.
We will continue
navigating through the Seno Unión until entering the
access channel that will take us to the city of Puerto Natales, where
Our great adventure will culminate.
It is important to keep in mind that the landing in
Puerto Edén and the transit through the various channels are subject to the
sea conditions, the itinerary and the weather, and it will always be at the discretion of the
Captain to ensure the safety of everyone on board.
